The Best Time to Visit Dubai — Month-by-Month Guide
Dubai has two Dubais. The postcard Dubai — warm days, starlit desert nights, open-air rooftops — runs roughly November through March. The summer Dubai — 45°C afternoons, empty streets, indoor everything — runs May through September. Knowing which Dubai you are traveling to determines whether you pack a sweater for the evening or avoid going outside between 11 AM and 5 PM.
Short answer for most tourists: November, February, and March are the sweet spot. Here is the full breakdown.
Best weather: November, February, March (22–28°C, low humidity)
Best prices: June, July, August (summer low season)
Best beach: October, April (warm sea, tolerable sun)
Avoid if heat-sensitive: June, July, August (40–45°C)
Peak crowds & prices: December 20 – January 10
Ramadan 2027: approximately Feb 17 – Mar 18
January — The Peak Tourist Month
Weather: 14–24°C. Cool mornings, pleasant afternoons, chilly nights (bring a jacket for desert safaris).
Crowds: Very high until Jan 10, then moderate.
Prices: Hotels peak December 20 – January 10, then drop significantly.
Good for: Everything outdoors. Burj Khalifa visibility is best this month. Desert safaris are genuinely comfortable.
Events: Dubai Shopping Festival runs all month. Global Village is in peak season. Burj Khalifa New Year fireworks (one of the biggest in the world) are Dec 31.
February — Arguably the Best Month
Weather: 15–26°C. Sunny, dry, low humidity.
Crowds: Moderate. Russian and European tourists in large numbers, but not overwhelming.
Prices: Mid-range. Hotels 20–30% cheaper than late December.
Good for: Every outdoor activity. The beach is pleasantly warm (sea ~22°C). Desert and mosque tours are ideal.
Events: Dubai Jazz Festival (late Feb). UAE National Sports Day.
Tip: If you can only pick one month, this is it. Weather is as good as it gets and prices have dropped from the holiday peak.
March — Great Weather, Pre-Summer Prices
Weather: 17–29°C. Still perfect in early March, warming up by month's end.
Crowds: Moderate, declining by mid-month.
Prices: Mid-range, dropping toward end of month.
Good for: Beach vacations start to make sense by mid-March. Desert safaris comfortable but warming up.
Events: Dubai World Cup (horse racing, one of the richest races in the world) in late March. Art Dubai (contemporary art fair) mid-March.
April — The Transition Month
Weather: 20–32°C. First truly warm month. Humidity creeps up by late April.
Crowds: Low — spring break is usually ending.
Prices: Low-to-mid.
Good for: Beach, water parks, cruising. The sea hits 25°C. Hot air balloon flights still operating.
Caveat: Ramadan sometimes falls in April. If it does, many restaurants are closed during daylight hours. Respectful dress code applies in public. In Dubai, Ramadan is easier than other Gulf cities — most mall food courts stay open behind screens, and tourist activities continue. But it changes the vibe.
May — Getting Hot, Still Possible
Weather: 24–37°C. Beaches are hot by noon, but mornings and evenings are comfortable.
Crowds: Low.
Prices: Low. Many hotels run 30–40% summer discount promotions starting mid-May.
Good for: Budget-conscious travelers who are OK with indoor activity dominance. Pool time is still great early morning and after 4 PM.
Not good for: Desert safaris after 11 AM. Midday outdoor sightseeing. Any long walk.
June, July, August — The Summer Off-Season
Weather: 30–45°C. Humidity 80%+. It feels like walking into an oven with a wet towel.
Crowds: Very low at outdoor attractions. Malls and indoor parks are busy because everyone in Dubai is indoors.
Prices: Lowest of the year. 5-star hotels can drop to 3-star winter rates.
Good for:
- Luxury hotel stays — you get premium suites at off-season prices
- Indoor activities — Dubai Mall, Ski Dubai, Aquariums, Museum of the Future, Ferrari World (it's all indoor or air-conditioned)
- Water parks — Atlantis Aquaventure is arguably better in summer because the water is warm
- Kids' activities — all the indoor play zones are open
Not good for: Desert safaris (some operators shut down July–August), hot air balloons (grounded), Burj Khalifa outdoor deck, beach beyond 9 AM.
Pro tip: If you are determined to come in summer, stay at a hotel with a beach or rooftop pool, embrace late-night city exploring (7 PM onward), and accept that you will not be outside much.
September — Still Hot but Improving
Weather: 27–40°C. Humidity starts dropping mid-month.
Crowds: Low until last week when Europeans start returning.
Prices: Low, rising toward end of month.
Good for: Transition month. Last chance for summer discounts. Diving and water sports in the Gulf are excellent — water is at its warmest.
October — The Unsung Hero Month
Weather: 23–34°C. Humidity drops, sea temperature around 28°C, sun still strong but comfortable after 4 PM.
Crowds: Rising. Conferences and business travel start. Tourist crowds build toward November.
Prices: Mid-range, rising.
Good for: Beach. October is the single best beach month of the year. Desert activities return in late October. Diving.
Events: GITEX (major tech expo, mid-October), Dubai Fitness Challenge launches.
November — Back in Full Tourist Mode
Weather: 20–30°C. Perfect.
Crowds: High. UAE and Gulf National Day (Dec 2) vacationers appearing. European winter-sun travelers arrive.
Prices: Mid-to-high.
