Downtown Dubai 2026 — Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, the Fountains
Downtown Dubai is the heart of the city: the 828 m Burj Khalifa, the world's largest mall — Dubai Mall — with its aquarium, the dancing fountains on the lake, Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, the Old Town quarter, the Dubai Opera, and the Museum of the Future next door. Almost everything here is walkable, and in the evening the whole city gathers by the fountains. Most of the sights are ticketed (the Burj Khalifa deck, the aquarium), and the fountain show itself is free.

Downtown Dubai in one day — a route
A basic plan: morning — the Burj Khalifa deck (from $65, take a 10 AM–12 PM slot while there's less haze), then Dubai Mall with the aquarium and underwater zoo (from $50), lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the lake. Afternoon — a walk along Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and the Old Town quarter. Toward evening, head back to the lake: the Dubai Fountain show runs every 30 minutes from 6:00 to 11:00 PM, free. Want to get closer — an abra boat takes you right up to the fountains (from $25, sessions from 5:45 PM).
